As he marks this year’s birthday celebration, Dr. Tunde Diya has expressed gratitude to God, family members and associates who joined him at his country-home in Odogbolu town, Odogbolu LGA, Ogun state.
The event which was held on Sunday, 27th of September, 2020 started with medical outreach under the celebrant’s The Yellow Initiative medical team. The outreach headed by Dr. Olusodo saw about 100 residents of Odogbolu and its environs, mostly women and aged trooped out as they were diagnosed for various ailment such as hypertension, malaria, fever, general body ache and so on.
Dr. Diya thereafter led his family, friends and associates including the Dr. Tunde Diya Foundation members to thanksgiving service at the Cathedral church of St. Paul, Odogbolu. The presiding Pastor led other congregation to pray for long life, fulfilment of dreams among other best wishes. Reading from the book of 14. Philippians 4:6-7, the presiding Bishop urged the celebrant “not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
This was followed by “September Born Rally” which sees hundreds of those who have their birthday within the month of September danced around the town in a carnival-like rally amidst funfair. The September born used the occasion to pay a courtesy visit to High Chief Ogunaike, The Olugbon of Odogbon, in Odogbolu who showered encomium on Dr. Diya for his laudable initiatives under his Dr. Tunde Diya Foundation. He prayed for the celebrants especially Dr. Diya for more celebrations.
Guests were later hosted at TANIMOWO VILLA, in Odogbolu where dignitaries such as Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sport Hon. Dr. Kehinde Oluwadare and his Special Duties and inter governmental Affairs counterpart, Barr. Femi Ogunbanwo, Mr. Segun Adebayo, Ogun APC Youth leader, Comrade Babatunde Aremu, Apagun Biyi Adeleye represented by Aremo Akinlolu Agunbiade, all fifteen ward Chairmen of the APC in Odogbolu local government, among several others.
