NAOSS makes demands for students before Ogun state house of assembly
The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has sent forward a detailed demands to the Ogun State house of assembly for students’ interests and welfare to be legally included in sporting activities of the state.
The association made this demands during a stakeholders meeting on a bill before the house of assembly.
The bill titled Ogun State Sport Commission law and Ogun State Trust Fund Law (2019) received a public hearing session where stakeholders in the state was invited including NAOSS.
The association was led to the meeting by its national President, Comr. Saka Azeez with some other national executives of the association.
While presenting their demands in a speech delivered before the house committee on sport, the association National PRO, Comr. Ade Bash made known the need for the inclusion of indigenous students in sporting activities of the state.
Highlights of the demands include;
“Hunting for talents in higher institutions through engaging students in sporting activities, getting students involved which they will be useful for Gateway FC and sponsoring students for international competitions.”
“Sporting facilities to be established/renovated and well equipped in schools for continuous trainings of students in chosen sporting career as trainings keep people going.”
“NAOSS, being an indigenous students association should serve as channel between the commission and students when established.”
“Students should also be involved in all sport festivals of the state as at when due.”
“Focusing and engaging on students living with disabilities as they are being left out in sporting activities in the state.”
The association however sent a clean copy of their demands to the house committee on sport and also to the assembly secretariat.
In his own comment, the chairman of the committee, Hon. Sola Adams commended NAOSS for putting forward those demands and promised the demands will be looked into.
