50-year-old man, Kazeem Adetayo, has been arraigned before an Osun State Magistrate’s Court for stealing N70,000 belonging to his wife, according to a report by PUNCH.

Police prosecutor, Kayode Adeoue, said Adetayo committed the offence against his wife, Omowumi, on October 6, 2019 around 6:00pm in the Owode area of Osogbo, the state capital.

The offence was said to be in contravention of sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34 Vol. Il, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

Kazeem has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The counsel to the accused, Okobe Najite, applied for his bail with a promise to provide a reliable surety.

Najite also informed the court that the case was a domestic matter, adding that the complaint was ready for an out-of-court settlement.

But Omowumi denied planning to discontinue the case.

In his ruling, Magistrate Taofiq Badmus admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

He adjourned the matter until December 20, 2019.
