Ifo LG Boss, Kusimo Reaffirms Commitment To Agricultural Revolution
Hon. Idris Kusimo, the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, has reiterated his promise to revolutionize agriculture in the Council Area. This commitment was reinforced during the presentation of solar-powered water pumps to farmers under the Coalition of all Practicing Farmers (CAP) in Ifo Local Government on Wednesday, 11th December 2024, at a programme held at the Council Secretariat.
The solar-powered water pumps, provided by Heifer International, a renowned non-governmental organization, are designed to enhance agricultural productivity and efficiency. Notably, these pumps were offered at a reduced rate and instalment payment plan, making them more accessible to local farmers.
This initiative aligns with Hon. Kusimo’s campaign promise and vision to boost agricultural development in Ifo Local Government. By providing farmers with innovative technologies and resources, the local government aims to increase crop yields, improve food security, and stimulate economic growth.
“In pursuant of my campaign promises to our people, Agriculture remains a pivotal agenda of our administration. In view of this, I plan to revolutionise the agricultural sector of our dear Local Government”
He emphasized his commitment to empowering farmers in the Council Area with the tools and financial resources they need to succeed. This, the Council helmsman, who is a graduate of Agriculture Engineering with several years of experience, said, is based on his dedication to agricultural development and the well-being of his people.
Speaking on behalf of Heifer International, Miss Ibukun Adebayo encouraged the farmers to make good use of the solar pumps.
The Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources in the Council Area, Mrs Oluwakemi Akingbasote, appreciated the donor NGO while promising on behalf of the farmers to make good use of the solar pumps.
