DSS Invites Ogun LG Chairman, Others Over Disruption at APC Stakeholders’ Meeting

ABEOKUTA – The State Security Service has invited the Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area, Dare Alebiosu, and two other individuals for questioning over a disturbance that occurred during a recent All Progressives Congress stakeholders’ meeting in the area.
Sources familiar with the development told The Trumpet on Friday that the invitation followed a petition reportedly submitted by an aide to the Ogun State Governor, who was allegedly involved in the incident.
The stakeholders’ meeting, which was held at a private residence in the Government Reserved Area of Ijebu-Ode, reportedly became tense after disagreements broke out among party members ahead of the forthcoming ward congress.
According to sources, an altercation ensued during the gathering, resulting in a brief disruption of proceedings. Security operatives were said to have intervened to restore calm, allowing the meeting to continue.
While details of the incident remain sketchy, the SSS is understood to be reviewing complaints arising from the meeting as part of efforts to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the disturbance.
Attempts to reach the invited individuals for comments were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report. A WhatsApp message sent to the council chairman’s mobile line had yet to receive a response.
The Ogun State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the matter.
In a related development, another incident involving a senior state official was reported in the area, with authorities said to be investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged attack. Security agencies have yet to provide further updates.
As of press time, the DSS had not released an official statement regarding the invitations or the scope of its investigation.
