Developmental Strides Fuel Abiodun’s Landslide Victory in Ogun East APC Senatorial Primary – Tola Olutayo

SAGAMU – Hon. Tola Olutayo, Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Governor’s Liaison Officers (GLO), has congratulated Governor Dapo Abiodun on his emphatic victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Ogun East Senatorial District, which took place on Monday, May 18, 2026.
According to the Returning Officer for the district, Dr. Wale Bello, Governor Abiodun secured a decisive victory, polling 75,560 votes out of 99,503 votes cast across the nine local government areas of the district. His closest rivals, Senator Gbenga Daniel and Bukola Braimoh, garnered 398 and 29 votes respectively.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. Olutayo stated that the victory is a clear reflection of the overwhelming confidence the people and party faithful have in the Governor’s visionary leadership and commitment to sustainable development. He noted that the party’s primary was not just a political success but a reward for the administration’s numerous developmental legacy projects across the state, which have positively impacted lives through infrastructural transformation, healthcare improvements, youth empowerment, and economic growth.
Hon. Olutayo further remarked that the support from party members and stakeholders shows that the Governor’s developmental strides have earned the admiration and confidence of the people of Ogun East Senatorial District. As Governor Abiodun continues his political journey, Hon. Olutayo offered prayers for God to grant him more wisdom, strength, and good health to continue delivering quality leadership and outstanding service to the people.
The Governor’s victory comes as a significant step in the APC’s nationwide preparations for the 2027 general elections.
