COVID-19: Community commends Gov. Abiodun, Semiu Lawal for distributing palliatives

Residents of Agogo Ide of Obantoko in Odeda Local government of Ogun state have commended the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Odeda Local Government transition Chairman, Alhaji Bola Lawal for distributing food items and other essential materials in the area to cushion the effect of the lockdown to curtail the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Baale of the community, Chief Mufutau Alani made the remark while taking delivery of food items from chairman, Odeda Local Government. He said the gesture of the administration proved that it placed a premium on human lives beyond tax and tenement rate.
“As community leaders, we understand that there is no better time than now to pray and support this government in fighting this pandemic”,
He, therefore, tasked well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations to come to the aid of the needy in the society and extend the hands of fellowship to them.

NEWSACROSS.COM reports that Alhaji Semiu Bola Lawal commenced the distribution of food items worth million of Naira to vulnerable people at the local government.
“I am distributing these food items to the people of Agogo Ide which consists of many communities.
The Chairman also sensitised the people of the community against the deadly coronavirus pandemic and the precautionary measures to adhere to.
He enjoined the people to maintain social distancing, regular hand washing and use of hand sanitizers as precautionary measures put in place to fight the spread of the pandemic.
Some of the beneficiaries appreciated the the gesture, saying it would go a long way in cushioning the effects of the stay-at-home directive.
They said the palliative was timely, and thanked him for having them at heart in his welfare package for the society.
