BREAKING: CNG Car Tank Explosion Rocks Benin City, Multiple Injuries Reported

Benin City, Nigeria – October 17, 2024

A devastating explosion occurred today at a NipCo Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling station in Benin City, Nigeria, leaving multiple people injured.

Eyewitnesses report that the incident happened while a CNG-propelled car was being refueled. The blast completely destroyed the rear end of the vehicle, causing widespread panic.

According to sources, several injured individuals were rushed to the hospital immediately after the explosion. However, two people who escaped initial evacuation efforts were seen walking around with visible injuries, prompting concerned onlookers to urge them to seek medical attention.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the gas tank, allegedly fabricated by a local welder, may have been the cause of the explosion. Onlookers at the scene pointed out the blown-out tank as evidence.

“It’s a miracle nobody was killed,” said an eyewitness. “The sound was deafening, and the impact was massive.”

Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident. The NipCo filling station has been cordoned off as investigators begin to assess the damage.

This developing story will be updated as more information becomes available.
