OGUN ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS SANUSI AS COMMISSIONER AFTER SCREENING

ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State House of Assembly has confirmed the nomination of Hon. Olayemi Adebayo Sanusi as a commissioner in the State Executive Council.

His confirmation followed a screening exercise held at the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, and the subsequent adoption of a report by the Committee of the Whole House.

Presiding over plenary, Speaker Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, alongside other lawmakers, charged Sanusi to be a worthy ambassador of Odeda Local Government and uphold the high standards associated with the area once he assumes office.

The confirmation was based on a request by Governor Dapo Abiodun seeking legislative approval for Sanusi’s appointment. Lawmakers examined the nominee’s curriculum vitae and interviewed him before declaring him fit for the role.

Hon. Lukman Adeleye, who presented the Committee of the Whole House report, noted that the lawmakers were satisfied with Sanusi’s credentials and performance during the screening. Hon. Adeleye moved the motion for the adoption of the report, seconded by Hon. Babatunde Tella. All lawmakers supported the motion through a voice vote.

Hon. Damilare Bello seconded the motion converting the report into a resolution of the House before its eventual approval.

Following the confirmation, the Speaker directed the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin, to transmit the House resolution to the governor for further action.

Hon. Olayemi Adebayo Sanusi, a native of Odeda Local Government, had been serving as Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security prior to his nomination.
