Yayi Diaspora Movement Launches Global Campaign for Senator Yayi’s Governorship Bid

....Inaugural virtual meeting draws participants from 27 countries as diaspora indigenes pledge support for Ogun West Senator.

A new political support group, the Yayi Diaspora Movement (YDM), has officially launched a coordinated global campaign to back the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi. The coalition, comprising indigenes of Ogun State residing abroad, held its inaugural virtual meeting, connecting members from 27 countries across Europe, North America, Australia, and the Middle East.

During the meeting, which marked the formal establishment of the movement, members unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the Senator, citing his leadership qualities, integrity, and legislative achievements. The group formally pledged to mobilise resources and support to ensure the success of his gubernatorial aspiration.

According to a communiqué released by the group’s Global Coordinating Team, members expressed strong conviction that Senator Yayi offers the visionary leadership required for the state’s development. The group specifically noted that the Senator’s record of projects spans the three senatorial districts, describing his impact as unprecedented in the state’s history.

“No senator in the history of Ogun State has made such a widespread and visible impact across all three senatorial districts as Senator Yayi,” the group stated. “Through numerous impactful projects and interventions, he has demonstrated a rare commitment to equitable development. We believe these achievements are only a glimpse of the transformative leadership he will bring as Governor.”

Beyond international mobilisation, the movement outlined a strategy to extend its reach to the grassroots level within Ogun State. To achieve this, YDM announced the appointment of a State Representative tasked with overseeing in-state coordination. This representative will work with Coordinators in each of the state’s twenty local government areas to ensure the movement’s message penetrates local communities.

The YDM Global Coordinating Team reiterated its commitment to strengthening civic engagement among the diaspora and contributing to the vision of building a more prosperous Ogun State under Senator Yayi’s leadership. The group confirmed that additional initiatives and programs aimed at advancing this mission will be unveiled in the coming months.
