AGO IWOYE – Prince (Arc.) Farooq Adenugba, the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Housing, OPIC, and Special Projects, on Saturday hosted a well-attended Iftar and special prayer session in support of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.
The event, which took place at the historic Ebumawe’s Palace in Ago Iwoye, brought together political leaders, APC chairmen across Ijebu North Local Government, local government councillors, and the APC local government executive. In a demonstration of grassroots mobilisation, the Governor’s aide also facilitated the participation of ten representatives from each ward across Ijebu North Local Government.
The gathering was graced by Muslim clerics who led special prayers for the success and well-being of Governor Abiodun and his administration. In their sermons, the Islamic scholars emphasised the importance of patience, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence as core values of Islam and essential virtues during the holy month of Ramadan.
Attendees were reminded that Ramadan is not only a period of fasting and devotion but also a time to strengthen relationships, promote understanding, and foster harmony within communities. The clerics underscored the spiritual significance of the season, calling on Muslims to use the period to pray for leaders and seek divine guidance for the progress of the state.
The gathering also served as an opportunity for reflection on the role of faith in promoting unity, compassion, and responsible leadership in society. Participants noted that such engagements provide meaningful guidance and reinforce the values that sustain peaceful and progressive communities.
In his remarks, Prince Adenugba expressed gratitude to the traditional institution, religious leaders, and party faithful for their turnout and continued support for the Abiodun-led administration. He reiterated his commitment to grassroots engagement and the mobilisation of support for the Governor’s vision of a prosperous Ogun State.
Attendees expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a timely and significant intervention that fosters unity and strengthens the bond between leadership and the governed.
The event concluded with a collective prayer session for Governor Abiodun, the Ogun State Government, and the continued peace and development of the state.
