2027 ELECTIONS: AMORAN Kicks Off 3-Day Voter Card Verification Exercise for Members in Ogun

ABEOKUTA – In a strategic move to mobilise its members for the upcoming 2027 general elections, the Articulated Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, on Monday, January 5, 2026, launched a comprehensive three-day verification exercise for Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The exercise commenced at the association’s secretariat at Car Wash, Adatan, Abeokuta, with a significant turnout of members from the Ogun East Senatorial District, who participated enthusiastically in the process.
Addressing the crowd, the State Chairman, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, emphasised the importance of civic engagement and preparedness. “We have begun this programme to ensure that every member is ready to perform their civil duty in 2027. It is a demonstration that we are responsible citizens, actively contributing to both the social and economic fabric of our nation,” he stated.
Otunba Sokoya further connected the exercise to confidence in current governance, citing infrastructural developments as a key motivator for political participation. “Our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has undertaken significant infrastructure projects, particularly in road networks, which directly impact our operations and livelihoods. Similarly, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to making roads across Nigeria motorable. We believe in their efforts and are prepared to show our support through our votes when the time comes,” the Chairman added.
The verification drive is scheduled to cover all three senatorial districts in the state. Following the opening session for Ogun East on Monday, the exercise will proceed to Ogun Central on Tuesday, January 6, and conclude in Ogun West on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
AMORAN, a major transport association in the state, represents a substantial voter bloc. This organised effort underscores the growing political awareness and mobilisation within professional groups ahead of the next electoral cycle, highlighting the intersection of governance, infrastructure, and civic responsibility.
