The Honourable Member representing Ifo II State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Fola Salami today distributed bags of NPK fertilizers to selected Farmers as empowerment kits to aide their crop production.
Though, Hon. Salami was absent, the exercise was supervised by notable leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who represented him.
The distribution had over sixty (60) beneficiaries across four (4) farmers group within the constituency. The four (4) cluster groups include Sunren Farmers, Ososun Farmers, Agbesanwa Farmers Group and Treasure Life Farmers Group.
Chief Mariano Taiwo, representing Hon. Fola Salami, while addressing the beneficiaries encouraged them to use the fertilizer responsibly, ensuring it benefits their farming efforts and the nation.
Also acknowledging the statement of Chief Muraino, Chief Ganiyu Elefonde emphasized on the importance of farmer’s contribution to the agricultural value chain in Ifo Constituency II.
In the same vein, Alhaji Bola Teriba advised the farmers to remain committed to their work and continue to spread love among themselves. He, however, implored that the fertilizer should be use for the intended purpose and well utilized. He further stated that if properly utilized with good results to show more agricultural support might come from Honorable Fola Salami as an encouragement.
Mrs. Esther Bamidele, coordinator of Agbesanwa Group expressed gratitude to Hon. Fola Salami, noting the significance of the gesture amid a national food shortage and supply. She also encouraged home gardening for essential crops like vegetables. Other coordinators praised the initiative, with many farmers stating it was the first time they have directly benefited from such agricultural programs in Ifo II.
At the end of the distribution exercise each beneficiary went home with 50 KG worth of NPK fertilizers.
