Ramadan: OGEPA GM Greets Muslims, Calls for Sustained Virtues, Environmental Sanity

…Urges citizens to embrace cleanliness as a form of worship

ABEOKUTA – The General Manager of the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Hon. Kehinde Bello, has congratulated Muslim faithful across the state on the successful completion of the 1447 AH (2026) holy month of Ramadan, urging them to sustain the virtues of self-denial, sacrifice, and charity beyond the fasting period.

In a statement issued in Abeokuta on Thursday, Hon. Bello described the completion of the 30-day fast as a significant spiritual milestone, applauding the Muslim Ummah for their perseverance and unwavering devotion to Almighty Allah throughout the sacred month.

He noted that the spiritual cleansing achieved during Ramadan should reflect in the daily lives of the faithful and translate into practical actions that benefit society at large.

According to him, a truly pious community must also be a clean and healthy one. He therefore charged residents to extend the purity of the season to their immediate environment by embracing the “Waste-to-Wealth” initiatives championed by the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun.

“As we celebrate this Eid-el-Fitr, let us avoid indiscriminate waste disposal and see cleanliness as a civic duty and a form of gratitude to Allah,” the statement read in part.

Hon. Bello also used the opportunity to reassure the public of OGEPA’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a cleaner, greener, and healthier Ogun State. He called for stronger collaboration between the government and citizens in maintaining environmental sanity across the three senatorial districts.

He further urged residents to remember the less privileged in society and to continue showing love to their neighbours, irrespective of religious or ethnic leanings, stressing that Ogun State remains a collective heritage that must be kept safe and clean for future generations.

The General Manager wished all Muslim faithful a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration, praying that their supplications and good deeds during the holy month are accepted by the Almighty.

OGEPA is the state agency responsible for regulating environmental standards, waste management, and the enforcement of sanitation laws across Ogun State.
