The Federal University Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on Monday got a renewed promise for support from Odeda Local government, Ogun state, its host community to operate without hitches in the community.
The Chairman,Transition Committee of Odeda Local government, Alhaji (Hon) Semiu Bola Lawal, made the promise in his Office in Odeda when the Vice Chancellor of the university. Prof. Felix Salako paid him a courtesy visit.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the local council Boss assured the vice chancellor and his management team of total support of the community for their administration to record desired success.
“The University and the Local government had been enjoying robust relationships, our people had benefited 1mmensely from the extension mandate of the university,Our Farmers in the locality and its environments were trained in modern day practice farming techniques” the chairman said
Earlier, the VC of the university, Prof. Kolawole Salako had appealed to the chairman and his team for their support as the university was establish to training young minds,which he said would bring development to the community.
“We will like to seek for more of your support, we are here to also seek for the support of people of Odeda local government as we want to collaborate with this town and whatever you ask us to do, we will do.
“We want to leave a lasting legacy in this town. We will be putting our best to ensure we get the support of our host community in all ramifications,’’ he said.
