My Nomination Is A Rare Privilege – Ogun commissioner designate, Mr. Afolabi Afuape

Ogun State commissioner designate, Mr. Afolabi Afuape, has denied a media report credited to an online publication, The Encounter, quoting him as giving the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, a condition on his preferred ministry.

Afuape who appeared before the State Assembly for screening last Monday, refuted the story describing it as an “imagination of the reporter, and a disservice to the noble profession of journalism.”

“I appeared before the State Assembly on Monday and gave account of our stewardship in the Interim Committee on Transportation, especially in my sub-Committee on motorcycle, which has increased the monthly IGR from N22.5million to N40million in the state”

His words ”I never made such statement, I could not have made such statement. I see my nomination as a rare privileged call to serve, among thousands of qualified party men and indigenes of Ogun State.

Reacting to the news of his confirmation on Tuesday afternoon by the House of Assembly, the former commissioner for youths and sports, expressed appreciation to the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo and other honourable members, promising to give his best possible in the selfless service of Ogun State.
