K1 De Ultimate Clears the Air on ValueJet Incident: Denies Misconduct Allegations

Renowned Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has refuted reports alleging unruly behavior during an attempt to board a ValueJet flight on August 5, 2025. In a statement released by his media aide, Kunle Rasheed, the veteran artiste described the claims as “exaggerated and misleading,” insisting that he did not breach any aviation safety protocols.
The statement clarified that the substance in question, which was reportedly sensationalized, was merely drinking water given to K1 at the airport lounge while awaiting his flight. According to the release, K1 made efforts to explain the situation respectfully, but the matter was unnecessarily escalated.
The media team also dismissed claims that the musician blocked the aircraft or disrupted flight operations, describing such reports as “completely unfounded.” The statement emphasized that K1, a frequent traveler both domestically and internationally, strictly adheres to aviation regulations.
Notably, the release revealed that top officials, including the Head of Airport Security, representatives from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and the airline’s Chairman and Managing Director, personally reached out to apologize and even offered a private jet to transport him to Lagos at no cost. However, K1 reportedly declined the gesture despite persistent appeals.
The statement further described K1 as the “victim” in the incident, noting that only he and his personal assistant were directly involved. Eyewitness passengers allegedly intervened, urging him to remain calm amid the situation.
In a significant development, the statement referenced the suspension of the pilot involved in the incident, suggesting that she may attempt to shift blame. “Given the circumstances, it is no surprise if she attempts to deflect blame — surely, she must lie to cover herself up,” the statement read.
K1’s media team urged the public and the media to avoid sensationalism and base their judgments on facts rather than assumptions. The musician was described as a law-abiding citizen cooperating fully with authorities to ensure a proper resolution.
