Ijebu East Chairman-Elect, HACCO, Others get Certificates of Return

The chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Honourable Kehinde Oluwadare and other elected chairmen in the recently conducted council poll in Ogun State have been presented with their certificate of return.

Also receiving their certificates of Return are the Vice chairmen, while councillors-elect in the state are yet to get certificates of return.

While making the presentation in Abeokuta on Sunday, the Chairman of Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGISEC), Barrister. Babatunde Osibodu said the elected officers had satisfied the provisional requirements of the commission, which secured them victory at the poll.

Recall that candidates of the All Progressives Congress reportedly cleared all the council seats in the election conducted across the state on November 16, 2024

According to the party state chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, the victory of the APC candidates in the council polls is a reflection of the people’s will who trooped out to carry out their civic rights by voting through the ballot in appreciation of the efforts of Gov. Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

In his response, Hon. Kehinde Oludare thanked Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor of the state for putting in place good leadership strides for the betterment of Ogun state people, adding that the governor has written his name in gold through the conduct of the local government election, which is said to be 100 per cent free, fair and credible.

The Ijebu East Chairman-Elect, however, used the occasion to congratulate his colleagues and counterparts from different council areas.

“It’s a great honour to receive this Certificate of Return from Ogisec today. I am deeply grateful to the people of Ijebu East for their overwhelming support and trust in my leadership.

“This Certificate of Return belongs to all of us, and together we will take our council area to greater heights.

“I want to reiterate my commitment to serving the people of Ijebu East local government with integrity, transparency and dedication.

“I believe, with your support and cooperation, we can achieve great things in the task ahead.

“I want to thank the entire Ijebu East local government leadership, the entire support team that worked tirelessly during the campaign and the good people of Ijebu East local government for their unwavering support.
