Ifo LG Chairman, Kusimo Pledges Support for Amotekun Corps During Courtesy Visit

Ifo, Ogun State – The Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, has pledged unwavering support for the Amotekun Corps in its mission to enhance security and safety across the council area. The commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Amotekun Corps to the Chairman at the Local Government Secretariat on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

The Amotekun delegation, led by retired Brigadier General Alade Adedigba, the Corps Commander, expressed appreciation for the Chairman’s consistent support and collaboration. Brig. Gen. Adedigba emphasized the importance of partnerships with local governments in strengthening community-based security initiatives, particularly in addressing emerging security challenges.

In his response, Hon. Kusimo commended the Amotekun Corps for its dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding lives and properties. He reiterated the significance of collective efforts in combating crime and ensuring peace, noting that security remains a top priority for his administration.

“The Amotekun Corps has proven to be a vital force in maintaining peace and security in our communities. As a government, we are committed to providing the necessary support to enhance your operations and ensure the safety of our people,” said Hon. Kusimo.

The Chairman assured the Corps of his administration’s readiness to facilitate logistics and other resources to bolster their effectiveness. He also urged residents of Ifo Local Government to continue cooperating with the Amotekun Corps and other security agencies by providing timely and relevant information to aid their operations.

The Chairman was joined by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abibat Ojo; Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Samuel Bangboye; Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Fatai Ogundele; and other principal career officers to welcome the visitors. The Amotekun Corps delegation included Engr. Wale Yusuf, Consultant to the Corps Commander, and several senior officers of the Corps.

This visit underscores the ongoing collaboration between local governments and security agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in Ogun State.
