Hon. Idris Kusimo Takes Oath of Office As Chairman, Ifo local government

Hon. Idris Kusimo, on Monday 18th December, 2024 took the oath of office as the newly elected Chairman of Ifo Local Government at a colourful swearing in ceremony held for all the newly elected Chairmen of the twenty Council Areas at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The newly sworn in Chairman from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 26,450 votes in the Local government election held on Saturday 16th November, 2024 to defeat the other contestants had earlier collected his certificate of return from OGSIEC on Sunday 17th November, 2024.

Speaking with press men shortly after his swearing in, Hon. Kusimo pledge to operate an open-door policy while promising his commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to his people. He equally appreciated His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, the Executive Governor of Ogun State for his support and the confidence he reposed in him.

The Chairman vowed to implement people-oriented projects and policies, prioritizing the welfare and needs of both the Staff and residents of the Council Area.

The Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, speaking at the event, charged the newly elected local government chairmen to prioritize the welfare of the people and deliver on their campaign promises. He emphasized the importance of good governance and accountability. He urged the chairmen to be responsive to the needs of their constituents and to work tirelessly to improve their communities.

Governor Abiodun expressed confidence in the ability of the newly elected chairmen to deliver on their mandate. He urged them to seek guidance and support from the state government whenever necessary.

The newly sworn-in chairmen were charged to hit the ground running and commence work immediately.
