ABEOKUTA – Governor Dapo Abiodun has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building an inclusive state, urging residents of Ogun to continue partnering with the government as preparations for the 2026 budget commence.

The governor made the call during a Town Hall Meeting for the Egba Division, a forum designed to incorporate citizens’ input into the state’s fiscal planning.

Represented by the Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr Dapo Okuboyejo, Governor Abiodun stated that wide consultation remains a defining feature of his government, ensuring governance is anchored on citizen participation, transparency, and accountability.

He highlighted that his administration’s ISEYA Development Agenda has driven “remarkable progress” across key sectors. The governor listed several achievements from the past year, underscoring a record of strategic reforms and project execution.

Key achievements cited by the governor include:

· Healthcare: Renovation of primary healthcare centres, installation of solar power, and the rollout of the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme.
· Housing & Energy: Completion of the Olumo Residential Court Apartments, progress on the Ibara GRA Regeneration Project, and the installation of solar streetlights and transformers.

Looking ahead, Governor Abiodun assured that the 2026 budget would focus on empowering youth, supporting small businesses, and strengthening social protection for the vulnerable.

“Let us continue working together to identify priorities, craft solutions, and build a state that works for everybody,” he urged.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, commended the governor’s infrastructure efforts but called for state intervention in the rehabilitation of dilapidated federal roads within Ogun.

The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Olaolu Olabimtan, described the town hall meetings as a “vital pillar of participatory governance.”

Traditional rulers, including the Onijale of Ijale Papa, Oba Michael Babalola, and the Olu Suin, Oba Lawrence Odeyinka, praised the state’s developmental strides while appealing for more road interventions in their communities.
