Gov. Abiodun Praises Obafemi Owode LG Chairman for Infrastructure Development

Ogun State – Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has praised the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, for his effective utilization of funds in delivering developmental projects for the council area.

The commendation came during the commissioning of several projects, including the Obafemi Owode Local Government Primary School in Maba, the Magboro Shopping Mall, and the Ogidan Asphalt Road.

Representing the Governor, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiu Hamzat, lauded Ogunsola for his prudent management of resources. He noted that among the 20 local governments in the state, Obafemi Owode was the first to complete and commission its projects, demonstrating a strong commitment to infrastructure development.

Amb. Ogunsola reaffirmed his dedication to transforming Obafemi Owode, emphasizing its strategic location as a gateway to Ogun State due to its proximity to Lagos and Oyo States. He expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun for supporting local governments in driving grassroots development.

Highlighting the significance of commissioning five projects within his second term’s first year, Ogunsola assured the Maba community of his administration’s resolve to deliver a secondary school, just as he fulfilled the earlier promise of constructing a primary school.

The newly commissioned Magboro Shopping Mall, situated along the Lagos axis, was designed to modernize commercial activities in the area. Ogunsola explained that relocating parts of the Magboro Market was necessary to create space for the mall, which aims to enhance the market’s aesthetics and functionality.

Additionally, the rehabilitation of the Ogidan Asphalt Road, previously in deplorable condition, was met with widespread appreciation from residents.

In another development, Chief Abdul Rasak Adisa Afolarin, the Baale of Aderupatan Village in Ajebo Ward, expressed joy over the provision of a motorized borehole for his community. He recounted past hardships faced by villagers in accessing clean water and commended Ogunsola for ending their struggles. He urged the community to maintain the facility properly.

Dignitaries present at the event included Engr. Babatunde Adesina, Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Works and Infrastructure; Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun; Hon. Bamidele Erisan; Chief Woke Adeniji; Chief Idris Fadeyi; Hon. Sobukonla Abiodun, Vice Chairman of Obafemi Owode LG; Chief Kayode Dipeolu, Secretary to the Local Government; Hon. Saheed Ariyibi, Leader of the Legislative Council; Councillors; and Ms. Olufunke Adeniji, Head of Local Government Administration, among others.

The projects’ commissioning underscores the local government’s commitment to improving living standards and fostering economic growth in Obafemi Owode.
