APC Ward Chairmen in Obafemi-Owode Affirm Adenike Abosede Ademokun as Consensus Candidate for State Assembly

In a move that consolidates party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Body of Ward Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area has formally affirmed Mrs. Adenike Abosede Ademokun as the party’s consensus candidate for the Obafemi-Owode State Constituency House of Assembly seat.

The affirmation was contained in an official notification addressed to the State Chairman of the APC, through the Local Government Chairman, and made available to the press on Wednesday. The ward-level leaders declared that the decision was reached after extensive consultations with critical stakeholders across all wards in the local government.

According to the document, the chairmen reviewed the earlier endorsement made by the party’s Apex Leaders and arrived at a unanimous resolution to uphold it, citing the collective decision of all aspirants to voluntarily step down for Mrs. Ademokun as a powerful signal of unity and shared purpose.

“After due and exhaustive deliberation, the Ward Chairmen unanimously resolved to affirm and uphold the endorsement of Mrs. Adenike Abosede Ademokun as the consensus candidate for the upcoming primaries,” the statement read. “This decision is arrived at sequel to the collective decision of all aspirants to step down for her as a consensus candidate for the forthcoming election and the endorsement of the Apex leaders.”

The chairmen took a moment to appreciate Governor Dapo Abiodun for what they described as “meritorious leadership and commitment to the development of our great party,” noting that his administration has brought tremendous progress to the Gateway State. Appreciation was also extended to the state and local government leadership of the party for providing steady direction.

With the consensus arrangement now firmly in place, the Ward Chairmen have pledged their total commitment to ensuring the party’s victory in 2027. They assured the state and local leadership that the ward-level structure remains fully mobilized to support the arrangement and maintain the stability required for a successful outing at the polls.

“As benefactors of consensus, we cannot deny the fact that our collective resolve at the ward level will ensure unity, stability, and a coordinated approach towards securing victory for the party in the 2027 general elections,” the chairmen affirmed. “We therefore respectfully assure our leaders and other party structures to count on us all in ensuring our sincere support to uphold this arrangement.”

The affirmation of Mrs. Ademokun is expected to calm all pre-primary contests in the constituency and position the APC for a united front as the party gradually gears up for the next electoral cycle.
