BREAKING: Amosun travels out, top aides to flee Nigeria

As the new administration of Dapo Abiodun is set to take over the mantle of government in Ogun State, information available to Newsaccross reveal that the outgoing Governor Ibikunle Amosun is set to travel out of Nigeriaanu moment from now, while his top aides are planning to flee the country before or immediately after the inauguration of the new government on May 29, 2019.

AmosunNewsaccross can reveal that though the Amosun Administration and Dapo Abiodun’s team jointly set up a “Transition Interface Committee”, not much progress has been made. The Amosun’s team led by his Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, has stopped meeting with Abiodun’s team on the excuse that Adeoluwa has been out of the country.

Newsaccross learnt that “not a single sheet of paper has been passed on to the Abiodun’s team, despite the written request for vital documents and information. As things stands, Abiodun may have to come in and use the first few weeks to find out the state of affairs in the “gateway state”. A member of Abiodun’s team told our reporter that “nothing tangible is expected to be passed on by Amosun during the official handover slated for May 28, 2019.”

A source within the government informed that Amosun will “definitely not be available for the May 28, 2019 handover ceremony and will certainly not attend the inauguration of Dapo Abiodun on May 29, 2019 at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

As at the time you are reading this, Amosun may be on his way out of the country and may not return until after May 29. One of his aides said “Oga will be going to Saudi Arabia on Umrah (leases Hajj)”, but another source informed that the unpopular governor may actually be heading for London where he reportedly owns expensive properties in choice areas.

Among Amosun’s aides that may flee the country soon are the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, the DG Lands, Mr. Biyi Ismail, Commissioner for Works, Arch. Lekan Adegbite and CEO of OGUN State Property, Investments Corporation (OPIC), Mr. Jide Orunsolu, among others.

These officials are said to be involved in major transactions and deals carried out by Governor Amosun and running into several billions of dollars.
