TJ Ishola, Toyin Sogbesan, Others Bag Award Improving Value for Women in Ogun
The Chairman of Irọrun Movement and leading Chairmanship Aspirant of Abeokuta North Local Government, Engr. Tajhdeen Ọlálékan Ishola, Ogun state broadcasting corporation General Manager, Oluwatoyin Sogbesan and others have been honoured with Merit awards by the Nigeria Labour Congress, Women Committee, Ogun State chapter today after the commemoration of 2021 International Women’s Day held at the Congress Hall/Auditorium, 1, NLC Close, M.K.O Abiola way, Leme, Abeokuta.
According to the organizers “The Merit Award is being instituted to appreciate and reward excellence for distinguished Men and Women who have contributed to the growth and development of Ogun State.
The Merit award is one of the Programmes in line with the celebration of International women Day in Ogun State.
Speaking after the announcement, Okanlomo-Adeen of Oke-Ona,Engineer Tajhdeen Ishola appreciated the organizers for making the awards non monetary and for counting him worthy of luck among other well meaning Ogun citizens, he also called for more efforts in women empowerment, adding that he will not relent in his efforts in creating more success stories for women once he becomes local government chairman of Abeokuta North.
“He said, as a grassroot politician and team player, our team promise to intensify our efforts to build capacity and support women with the resources and expertise needed to improve their lives,” he added.
Hon Tajhdeen Ishola further advised the young ones not to limit their chances in learning new things.
“Ask questions, don’t limit your chances in learning new things as it will improve your social skills, our local government during my tenure if by Gods grace I become the chairman of Abeokuta North will ensure an avenue is created to sensitise the young girls and boys on all forms of abuse among the society.” Said Ishola
he added the young girls should not submit themselves to all forms of abuse during their developmental stage and also raise alarm when abused.
Other dignitaries that graced the August occasion are Special Adviser to Gov. Dapo Abiodun on Women affairs, Mrs Adijat Adeleye, State chairman of NLC, Comrade Bankole , Wife of State APC chairman Mrs Abolanle Sanusi and other dignitaries.
