Stop blocking drainage channels…Ogun Speaker, Oluomo pleads

The Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Prince) Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo has appealed to residents of the state to stop dumping refuse in drainage channels especially during the ongoing raining season.
The Speaker gave the advice during a plenary on the floor of the House of Assembly in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta after a personal explanation by the deputy Speaker, Hon Oludare Kadiri on ecological challenges in his Ijebu-North Two constituency.
Prince Oluomo who lamented the hazards which usually accompany the act of indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drainages, admonished parents not to leave their children alone when going to school in the rain.
He however, mandated the deputy Speaker to collate all ecological issues in the 26 state constituencies including the ‘Segudu-Ifo’ matter, in order to take a holistic approach to combat them.
The Speaker also decried the Illegal use of siren and government official plate numbers by unauthorized persons in the state.
Prince Oluomo called on the Clerk of the House to send a resolution to concerned authorities in the state requesting for a retrieval of such plate numbers and sanctions for unauthorized siren users in a bid to have a safe society.
This followed personal explanations by members representing Ijebu Waterside, Yewa North Two and Yewa South Constituencies.
