Southern Governors’ Forum Mourns with Katsina Over Loss of Governor Radda’s Mother

Katsina – The Southern Governors’ Forum (SGF), led by its Chairman and Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has expressed heartfelt condolences to Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, following the passing of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Baribari.
A high-powered delegation from Ogun State, headed by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, delivered the Forum’s sympathies during a visit to Katsina. Speaking on behalf of Governor Abiodun, Salako-Oyedele acknowledged the profound loss, describing the death of a parent as an irreplaceable grief.
“While no time is ever right to lose a loved one, we find comfort in Hajiya Safara’u’s virtuous life and enduring legacy,” she said. “We pray Allah grants her Al-Jannatul Firdaus and gives the family the strength to bear this loss.”
Joining the delegation, Hajia Aisha Rimi, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), offered prayers for the deceased and extended her sympathies to Governor Radda and his family.
In response, Katsina State Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, thanked the SGF and Ogun State for their solidarity. “We are deeply touched by this gesture from Governor Abiodun and the Southern Governors’ Forum. Your prayers and presence provide immense comfort during this difficult time,” he said.
The late Hajiya Safara’u was celebrated for her impactful life, leaving behind a legacy of service and devotion to family and community. The Southern Governors’ Forum’s visit underscores the unity and shared humanity among Nigeria’s regional leaders in moments of grief.
