In a display of unity and political resolve, the Omoluabi Movement, a key grassroots political structure in Ogun State, recently celebrated the birthday of its Convener, Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, using the occasion to reaffirm its strategic cohesion ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The gathering, which took place at the Ogun State House of Assembly Quarters, was organized by the group’s 26 coordinators across the state’s constituencies, underscoring its embedded presence within the state’s political architecture.

Formerly operating as the Dapo Abiodun Continuity Agenda (DACA), the Omoluabi Movement is widely recognized as a pivotal force behind Governor Dapo Abiodun’s electoral victories in 2019 and 2023. Its rebranding is seen as a strategic move to broaden its influence for the next phase of Ogun State politics.

The State Coordinator, Hon. (Engr.) Segun Odunuga Kaka, praised Akintunde for his dedication to humanitarian service and political stability. He urged all coordinators to align with the movement’s new direction, emphasizing that “unity and discipline remain crucial” as the political landscape becomes more active.

In his address, the celebrant, Armstrong Akintunde, thanked the members for the honor, stating that the event symbolized the movement’s collective strength. He directed coordinators to immediately commence robust mobilization efforts across all wards and local governments to ensure the group remains a “dominant political engine” in the state.

Akintunde highlighted the movement’s ongoing grassroots programmes, including healthcare initiatives, water projects, educational support, and microcredit schemes, as evidence of its commitment to touching lives and reinforcing its presence.

He assured members that “dedication, accountability, and loyalty will not go unnoticed,” promising that committed individuals would be duly rewarded as the movement progresses.

Though modest, the event served as a strong signal that the Omoluabi Movement intends to remain a structured, strategic, and influential force in shaping Ogun State’s political future.
