Oluomo Solidarity Forum Backs Ogun APC Consensus Candidates, Sues for Unity

Ifo – The Oluomo Solidarity Forum (OSF), a prominent political group in Ifo Local Government Area, has thrown its weight behind the consensus candidates recently adopted by the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a press statement issued on Monday and signed by Ogbeni Kolawole Isola, the group commended Governor Dapo Abiodun and the state party leadership for opting for a consensus approach, describing it as “the best for party unity and cohesion.”

The forum, which has been active for over two decades and has produced political officeholders across five election cycles, has specifically aligned itself with the party’s decisions on various positions, particularly in Ifo 1 State Constituency and Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency.

“We align ourselves with the decisions of the Ogun State APC and Governor Dapo Abiodun on the various positions already decided,” the statement read. The group congratulated Senator Solomon Adeola (YAYI) as the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Adijat Motunrayo Adeleye as tconsensus candidate for the he House of Representatiate, and Mr Abolade Ibrahim Amosu as the candidate for Ifo 1 State Constituency. OSF pledged to mobilise grassroots support for all the candidates during the campaigns.

While celebrating the emergence of the consensus picks, the forum appealed for calm among aggrieved aspirants, urging them to prioritise the party’s interest. “We appeal to all aggrieved aspirants to put party interest first and work towards the party’s success at the polls because the party has an internal compensation process,” the statement noted. It also called on the successful candidates to be magnanimous in victory by extending hands of fellowship to their co-contestants.

Emphasising the need for a formidable front, the group warned against internal divisions, saying, “APC needs to be united, cohesive and strong without any room for internal strife, bickering and intraparty distractions as 2027 approaches.”

The OSF, led by the immediate past Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Olakunle Oluomo, reiterated his loyalty to the party’s ideals under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu at the national level and Governor Abiodun in the state. “As Democrats, we will toe the party line, work for the party and ensure that the APC wins at all levels,” the statement concluded.
