Ogun First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun Calls for Philanthropists’ Support in the Education Sector

The Wife of the Governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has called on philanthropists in the state to assist in the education sector of the state.

Mrs. Abiodun made this call while hosting members of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ogun state branch, on a courtesy visit to her Office.

She said it had become necessary for them to come to the aid of schools in their deplorable condition across the state as government alone could not be saddled with the enormity of challenges faced in all sectors of the state noting that the task of developing the state was for all to accomplish.

She described sensitization as an instrument needed to make more people particularly wealthy indigenes within and in Diaspora to support the education of the children in the state more importantly in the area of the provision of infrastructure and funding.

Mrs. Abiodun promised her continued support in her capacity as the wife of the Governor and a Champion of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for the education sector and the ANCOPSS adding that motivation of the teachers would be ensured in the present administration.

The State President of ANCOPSS, Dr. Olubunmi Womiloju earlier in her remark, appreciated Mrs. Abiodun for her efforts and passion for the education sector describing her as a joy giver and a problem solver.

She called on the government to give more attention to secondary education which according to her was a bridge between the primary and the tertiary education noting that students in secondary schools were in their adolescent age, a period she described as critical in the different stages of life.
