Ogun Assembly Chief Whip, Omolola Bakare, Commissions Landmark Projects in Ijebu-Ode

Ijebu-Ode – The Chief Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly and member representing Ijebu-Ode State Constituency, Hon. Omolola Bakare, on Friday, commissioned multiple constituency projects aimed at fostering development in the area.
The event, attended by top government officials and traditional leaders, marked a significant milestone in Hon. Bakare’s first term as a lawmaker.
Accompanied by the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and other dignitaries, Hon. Bakare officially inaugurated a 40-unit open-stall market at Itamapako, designed to support local farmers and traders.
Other completed projects commissioned during the tour included borehole water facilities at Ajegunle Ijada and Ojofa Street, a public toilet at Oke-Aje Market, and a Primary Health Care Centre at Sabo Molode.
In her remarks, Hon. Bakare expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun and Speaker Elemide for their support, which she said enabled the successful execution of the projects.
“During our campaign, I made promises to the people, and today, I am proud to fulfil many of them, with more underway,” she said. “The Itamapako market women requested these stalls, and I am delighted to deliver them. Additional projects are coming to other parts of Ijebu-Ode.”
Speaker Elemide commended Hon. Bakare’s performance, noting that she is the first lawmaker elected in the last polls to invite colleagues for a project commissioning.
“Hon. Omolola has done exceptionally well, both in legislation and constituency development. Ijebu-Ode is fortunate to have such a dedicated representative,” he stated.
The Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Hon. Damilare Alebiosu, praised the projects for their long-term benefits to the community, aligning with Governor Abiodun’s development agenda.
Also present at the event were the Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker; Minority Leader Hon. Lukman Adeleye; Hon. Adegoke Awoso (Yewa North); Oba Osusanmi, the Aladeken of Oke-Ako; and the Iyalaje of Ijebuland, Mrs. Alatishe, who lauded Hon. Bakare’s efforts in improving market infrastructure and traders’ welfare.
The newly commissioned facilities are expected to enhance economic activities and social well-being in Ijebu-Ode Local Government.
