Odogbolu kicks off okowo Dapo, better life for women

Government success is measured by many things especially by the genuineness of the love a government has for its people -love shown by special projects tailored for women and youths (some of whom are widows and orphans).

In fulfilling its promise to provide support for women, on Sunday 1, September 2019 in Odogbolu local government area, Ogun, the special pro-masses Okowo DA (the DA Women’s Trade Loan Project) kicked off among market women in Odogbolu anchored by Honourable Yetunde Shakirat Adesanya, the woman who has been at the forefront of caring for women and youths in Odogbolu local government. Fondly called ‘Abiyamo of Odogbolu’, Hon Adesanya took the governor’s goodwill to the women, sat with and assisted them to carefully fill the forms meant to put them in the direct line of the dividends of democracy being outworked by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, mfr.

Relief enveloped the women as Honourable Adesanya confirmed that their faith in DA was not misplaced. Joy crept into their eyes and became a fire of belief and excitement. They had fought hard to get their man, got him, and he had started making them proud, and happy to boot.

The Okowo Dapo is a special interventional project providing quick collateral-free loans to market women in Ogun. N10, 000.00 is given for the market women without interest with a window to trade with the money before a repayment regime commenced. The loan taker can request and get another loan after paying the outstanding one. Such a process will make it possible for each market woman to constantly have items of trade in stock, eliminating a constant obstacle to trade -capital.

Truly, the growth of Ogun is important to this government and as the responses of the women show, there is rising goodwill for HE Prince Abiodun mfr, and his government.

Certainly, ‘Igbega Ipinle Ogun’ is not a mere mantra. It is fast becoming the way of life.
