Ogun First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun Extols the Virtues of Late Iyalode Alaba Lawson

First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has described the late Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Mrs. Alaba Lawson as an Amazon and an icon that would not be forgotten.

Mrs. Abiodun who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye at the condolence visit to the family of late Chief Mrs. Alaba Lawson in the company of other women groups in the state, said the deceased was humility personified.

According to her, the deceased was a role model to the women folk and had contributed immensely to the course of women emancipation and empowerment in the State, the entire country and internationally noting that her demise was a huge loss.

While commiserating with the family, the people of Ogun State and Yorubaland in general for the irreparable loss, the First Lady prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and the fortitude for all dear to her to bear the loss.

Responding, Son of the deceased, Mr. Akinola Lawson on behalf of the family appreciated the First Lady and her team for the show of love for his mother and their family
adding that his mother was a woman of the people.

The First Lady’s team comprised of Spouses of Ogun State Government Functionaries, (SOSGFA), Female Political Appointees, APC Women Leaders, NAWOJ and Medical Women’s Association among others.
