MAJEKODUNMI, ALGON REPRESENTATIVES ASSESS ALGON’S PRIMARY HEALTH CARE PROJECT

The Executive Chairman Abeokuta South Local Government,Ake, Abeokuta Hon.Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi JP, with Representatives from both the State and National Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) yesterday, Monday 7th February 2022 paid on the spot assessment visit to the ALGON’s primary health care facility undergoing construction within the Local Government area of the State.

While touring the facility, the ALGON’s State Chairman who is also the current Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government,Hon.Tunde Eniola-Gazal expressed displeasure at the shoddy handling of the project as well as the use of sub-standard materials for construction.

The State ALGON Chairman said the projects cut across the 774 Local Governments in the Federation. This he said is a bid on the part of the Federal Government to improve the healthcare sector in the Nation. Hon.Emiola Gazal said it was really disheartening that the project which started since 2004, should turn out with such anomalies.

In his own words, Chief Dimeji Lamuren, Special Adviser to the National Chairman of ALGON said what played out during the assessment tour of the ALGON’s healthcare center in the L.G area was not encouraging.

He charged the contractor to work as a good and patriotic Nigerian and give the required value for the amount of money expended on the construction.

He said government is doing all within it’s hold to make life easier/better for the citizens and we as citizens most be able to put in our quota to make Nigeria a better place.

Chief Lemuren, encouraged the contractor in charge of building the health center located within the area office of the L.G.A to ensure that all anomalies pointed out are corrected and value given to the project.

The contractor in charge of the health center facility promised on behalf of his company that each anomaly identified will be corrected.
