Former 3-term member of House of Representatives and Federal Commissioner, Federal Character Commission has expressed shock over the death of Senator Buruji Kashamu.
In a release personally signed by Hon. Akinlade and made available to journalist, the lawmaker gave an account of the person of the late Ijebu-Igbo born businessman and politician who “lived life worthy of emulation as a man of strong conviction, versatility, brilliance and philanthropic gestures.”
Akinlade further described the late real estate and lotto mogul as someone whose demise “will in no small way affect numerous people especially the downthroden, his political, business associates and family members.”
Part of the release reads, “In total submission to the will of Almighty Allah I accept the sad news of the death of my brother and friend, Senator (Prince) Buruji Kashamu.”
“Prince lived life worthy of emulation as a man of strong conviction, versatility, brilliance, and philanthropic gestures. His death came when his political experience and services is most needed in our dear state. Ogun state has lost a Man of strong will and a good fighter. A man you must love to hate and hate to love.”
Senator Buruji Kashamu death was made public yesterday when a former colleague in the Red chamber, Senator Ben Bruce on his verified Twitter handle made the announcement of the passage of the late senator. I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace.” Senator Ben Murray-Bruce writes.
His remain is scheduled for burial on Sunday according to Islamic rites.
