The All Progressives Congress (APC) Wards Congress Appeal Committee/Panel for Ogun State has commenced sitting in Abeokuta, the State capital, with the panel assuring that all disputes or complaints would be resolved amicably using the party’s dispute resolution mechanism.
The Panel chairman, Mr Segun Ojo, who gave the assurance in his snappy maiden press briefing, said three petitions have been received by the appeal panel, adding that the matter before them is a “family affairs” and would be “duly resolved.”
Segun explained that there was no record of factions within Ogun APC, saying the meeting scheduled to resolve internal crisis going on between party members.
The Senator representing Ogun West, Senator Tolu Odebiyi was sighted at the venue of the Panel/Committee meeting, and it was not clear if he is a petitioner or an observer.
Also, the panel chairman did not disclose the identities of the petitioners or the nature of each of the petition received but a newspaper reported earlier that chieftains of the APC in Ogun State, including a former Deputy Governor, Prince Segun Adesegun, had petitioned governor Dapo Abiodun, expressing shock over alleged fraud in the outcome of the recent ward congresses of the party in the state.
