Ipokia LGA Revitalizes Abandoned Machinery to Boost Infrastructure Development

Ipokia – In a significant move to enhance infrastructure and strengthen local capacity, the Ipokia Local Government has successfully restored two key earth-moving machines that had been abandoned for years. The initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to responsive governance and optimal utilization of public assets for improved service delivery.
Earlier this year, a grader, left unused for over 14 years, was fully rehabilitated and deployed to grade several roads across the local government. The machine’s restoration has already improved road access, facilitated agricultural logistics, and enhanced connectivity between communities.
Similarly, a bulldozer abandoned in Sagamu for more than five years has been recovered and restored to full working condition. Once a symbol of neglect, the bulldozer is now set to support critical projects, including road construction and land preparation, upon completion of final technical assessments.
Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, the Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, stated that these efforts align with Ogun State’s ISEYA development agenda, championed by His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, CON. He emphasized the administration’s dedication to sustainable infrastructure and grassroots development.
“These interventions reflect our commitment to practical solutions that uplift our communities and drive long-term progress,” Avoseh said. “We are focused on making Ipokia work for all.”
The return of these machines is expected to accelerate local projects, reduce dependency on external contractors, and enhance the efficiency of public service delivery.
