Ijebu North East LG Commissions Block of 10 Toilets

Ijebu North East Local Government Led By Hon. Badejo Folusho in collaboration with Education Care and Support Foundation has commissioned a Block of Ten toilets for the use of pupils in St. Joseph Primary School, Odotu/Odogbe, in Ijebu North East Local Government in Ogun State.

The Construction of the block of toilets was facilitated through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Initiative.

The block of toilets comprises 4 toilet units for male students and 1 for Male teachers while also 4 toilet units for female students and 1 for female teachers making 10.

While speaking during the commissioning of the Project, Chairman Ijebu North East Local Government, Hon Badejo Folusho said the project was facilitated by the Education Care and Support Foundation through the Public Private Partnership Initiative.

In his words ” I want to sincerely thank Education Care and Support Foundation for the construction of this Block of 10 Toilets. Our students will No longer be going to the bush to Excrete.

We call on other stakeholders to join hands with this government to have more of this kind of projects facilitated in our Local Government Area.” The LG Boss Said.

The Local Government Chairman mentioned some of the projects that his administration has embarked on, including a VIP Toilet in St Peter Anglican School, Oke Aye, Ward 2 of the local government adding that Recently, he commissioned a newly built block of 2 Classrooms with Office and Store in Imewuro Ward 3.

He then assured the people that his administration would be focusing on fencing the schools which is in line with the policy of the State Government led by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun (CON).

Also speaking, the representative of the Education Care and Support Foundation, Princess Shade Alatishe thanked the Local Government for their support and encouragement by giving them an enabling environment to build the Project in their area adding that the foundation will continue to give adequate support in all aspects of humanity.

Recall that Patience Mercy Bartholomew a student of St. Joseph was kidnapped and killed recently in the school premises due to lack of an A toilet in the school which led to the pupils visiting the bush nearby to excrete.

This led to naming the block of the 10 toilets in memory of PATIENCE MERCY BARTHOLOMEW.

Other stakeholders at the event are; the local government vice chairman, the Secretary to the local government; the Councilor of the Ward; the Educational Secretary; the Zonal Education Officer, the facilitators of the sponsorship of the construction of the project; Hon Chief Wale Otubanjo; Princess Olusoga; the Head Teacher; Mrs Bolanle Amisu; representatives of the youths, the union officials of NUT; the parents of deceased girl; representatives of Baale of the town and other stakeholders to mention but a few.
