ELEGANCE CLUB OF ORU-IJEBU DISPENSE OVER A MILLION NAIRA ON EDUCATIONAL COMPETITION IN IJEBU NORTH LG

The Elegance Club of Oru-Ijebu yesterday doles out over a million naira prizes to pupils and students of different citadels of learning in Ijebu North local government. This was done after students from different schools within the local government participated in the annual educational competition of the Club.

According to the President, Mr Olusanya Gbenga FCA the students who were rewarded with cash prizes were Oru-Ijebu born who had participated in the year 2022 competition of the club. He noted that over 200 pupils and students participated in the competition under different categories and classes, from Primary Schools, Basic Classes 7-9 (JSS1-3) and the Senior Classes 1-3 respectively.

While presenting the prizes, the Chairman sub-committee on Education who doubles as the Vice Chairman of the Club, Mr Tunde Sanya salutes the brilliance of the awardees for making their Parents and Schools proud as ambassadors of repute. He pointed that the cash prizes were presented in their various schools to serve as motivation for them and to challenge other students in the school. He furthered that, the award will also boost the morale of the teachers who had dedicated their lives on impacting knowledge.

Speaking earlier in different schools, TPL Ola Okubena, Dr Kayode Olusanya and Mr Abiodun Lawal, appreciated the teachers of the awardees for being an inloco parentis indeed. They pointed that the club will continue to dedicate itself towards promotion of education via rewarding of excellence. They recalled that the club though a sociocultural organization, had since inception over 23Years ago, taking investment in education as a priority. They reflected that the value of education as drained to an extent that some see education or investment in education as a scam. They charged the pupils and students to imbibe good character, discipline and cognitive focus in their educational pursuit.

Some of the awardees includes, Adeyemi Ayomide Esther (Adeko Memorial – Pry 5), Quadri Roihannat (Migration Montessori Sch- Pry 5), Olusanya Priscilla (Hope Immaculate Sch. – Pry 4) and Adesanya Maryam Opeyemi (Lakunce Academy – Pry 4) of Primary Categories, securing 1st position to 3rd position respectively with a tie at 3rd position..

JSS 1 Category, Oluwatomisin Ajewole Oduwole (INAMCA), Sokoya Stephen Abiodun (Lakunce Citadel.), Salau Oluwaseyi (Hope Immaculate); JSS 2 category has, Osinulu Tolani Oluwagbohunmi, Ayeni Folawemi George, Omilaja Faith Christiana for first, second and third position respectively and JSS 3 Category has, Quadri Abdulmalliq Olajuwon (Migration Model Sch.), Olakitan Abiodun Oluseye (Lakunce Citadel) and Onabowale Samuel, (Lakunce Citadel).

In the Senior Secondary School 1 Category, Shuaib Aminat Adebukunola (Itamerin Comp.), Saibu Abdulhameed(Abobi Comprehensive High School.), Omilaja Praise (Mercy Model) won the first, second and third position respectively.
SSS 2 Category’s first, second and third position are, Oloruntoba Tinuola Helen (Lakunce Citadel), Adewole Mary Oluwaferanmi (Lakunce Citadel) and Naomi Afolakemi (INAMCA) while SSS 3 Category winners are, Shuaib Sudais Adekunle (Itamerin Comprehensive High School.), Adenuga Olushola Ayomide (INAMCA) and Arowolo Babatunde Samuel (Itamerin Comprehensive High School.)

Elegance Club of Oru-Ijebu was established over 23Years ago and has in its membership juggernauts in Politics, Business tycoons, Administrators, Bankers, Lecturers, Lawyers, Town Planners, Teachers and other notable professionals. The club had embarked on different projects within Oru Community and its environs.
