The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has just declared his intention to seek the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This was contained in a tweet by his media aide, Olu W. Onemola @OnemolaOlu:
Saraki arrived at the Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, where he said he would be meeting with young politicians and aspirants who are interested in running for public office in 2019 under the newly signed #NotTooYoungToRun Act.
Senate President Bukola Saraki formally declared his intention to contest the presidency on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.
Saraki made this declaration on Thursday in Abuja during his meeting with the Not-Too-Young-Run Movement.
The Senate President, who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress to the PDP, will contest the PDP presidential ticket with a former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso; an ex-Governor of Jigawma State, Sule Lamido and a former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa.
