Breaking: Amosun Faction Kicks As APC Set to inaugurate Yemi Sanusi as Chairman in Abuja
Factions of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun states that are loyal to Former Ogun state governor and current senator of Federal republic of Nigeria, Senator Ibikunle Amosun are set to lose out as the APC has perfected plans to inaugurate Chief Yemi Sanusi as state chairman who loyal to the governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday 3rd, February 2023.
Newsacross Newspaper learnt that the chairmen from at least 30 states had already arrived in Abuja ahead of their inauguration.
One of our senior correspondents who visited the party headquarters on Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, reported heavy police presence around the secretariat. The arrangement, it was learnt, was put in place to prevent any breakdown of law and order especially if aggrieved elements stage protests.
When contacted, the chairman of Amosun’s faction in his Hotel in Abuja, Derin Adebiyi, was not ready to speak with Newsacross crew as one of his aides was talking to someone on phone, he said it was not clear yet who would be inaugurated by the national leadership as Ogun state APC chairman but they are in Abuja to struggle it out with Dapo Abiodun team.
Speaking with Newsacross.com on Thursday morning, he simply said, “As it is not clear to you, it is not clear to us who will be inaugurated. But let’s keep our fingers crossed.”
Several attempts to speak to the former governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, also failed. The former governor, Ibikunle Amosun, could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
