APC Announces Ganduje’s Resignation, Names Dalori as Acting Chairman

Abuja – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially announced the resignation of its National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (CON), effective immediately.

In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka (CON), the APC disclosed that Ganduje stepped down to focus on pressing personal matters. His resignation letter was submitted to the National Working Committee (NWC) through the National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru.

Ganduje expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for the opportunity to lead the party. Following his resignation, President Tinubu directed the Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, to take over as Acting National Chairman pending a decision by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Ganduje, who assumed office in August 2023 after the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, was credited with fostering party unity, boosting APC’s electoral strength, and securing key defections from opposition parties.

The APC assured members of its commitment to stability and progress, aligning with President Tinubu’s *Renewed Hope Agenda*. The party also thanked Ganduje for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours.

A NEC meeting will soon be convened to appoint a substantive chairman.
