Just In: FG Declares Monday Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Mawlid
The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, a public holiday to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, known as Eid-ul-Mawlid.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on behalf of the government, congratulating Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the occasion.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged Muslims to embody the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this period. He also urged them to pray for lasting peace and a more prosperous and egalitarian nation.
The public holiday will allow Muslims to mark the significant occasion with festivities and prayers.
