COVID-19: Comply With OGSG Directives, Odeda LG Chairman Advises Residents

The transition committee chairman of Odeda Local government of Ogun state, Hon. Semiu Bola Lawal has enjoined residents of Odeda Local government and its environs to align with advisory notes and efforts of the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to curtail the spread of the global deadly disease, Coronavirus.

He equally advised the residents to supply helpful information about true practices and actions that could stop human to human transmission of Coronavirus.

He made this known in a press statement personally signed on Sunday, the chairman while regretting the report from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, that 30 cases have been confirmed with 2 discouraged in the country.

He said the local government health workers were directed to embark on massive awareness campaigns in all markets in the local government.

Lawal enjoined all community leaders , Traditional rullers and grassroots leaders at different levels in sensitization of people on this virus.

“Odeda Local Government holds a strategic position as a gateway to other states, so we are working with our healthcare professionals and law enforcement agencies to strictly enforce the ban and other measures for #COVID19. Now is the time to be smart and stand together.

” The state Command System for #COVID19 has been in operation for weeks. Ogun state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker is leading the team.

“The public is therefore enjoined to desist from organising gatherings that fall under the purview of the ban or refuse to honour invitation to such gatherings.

Any group of people found disobeying the government directive will be rounded up and the law would take its course, accordingly.

However, the Government wishes to notify the public that this ban will be enforced without infringing on anyone’s right to freedom of movement and association, as permitted by the directive.

Ogun State Ministry of Health and the NCDC are doing an amazing job. Please let us all play our parts and avoid reckless actions that will put yourself, family and the community in danger.

Let’s follow their guidance and guidelines to the letter.”
