BREAKING: Suspected herdsmen attack Ogun village, kill woman

Armed men suspected to be herders have attacked a village in Odeda Local Government of Ogun State, killing a woman and wounded unspecified number of people.

The armed men swooped on Akankan, a village in Odeda Local Government Area on Tuesday, destroying valuable properties and human lives, local sources said.

One of the locals, Ahmed Lanre, who claimed that herders had been troubling the area since the beginning of the harvest season, added that their attack early on Teusday followed a similar pattern.

He said, “Yesterday afternoon the herdsmen attacked and robbed a woman who went to the farm to bring home his harvest.

“He returned and had barely informed the community of what happened to him when we saw them coming from all areas.
