Ogunsola Flags Off New Road Project, Unveils Multi-Million Naira Development Agenda

In a move to accelerate infrastructure development and respond to the yearning of residents, the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has officially commenced work on a new 1.3km asphalt road project.

The Council boss made the declaration on Saturday during an inspection visit to the newly approved Ita-baale/Oluwo/Adigbe Police Station Road, where construction has just begun. According to the Chairman, the project is designed to complement the larger road infrastructure agenda of the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun, CON, within the local government area.

“The projects we are unveiling today are a direct response to the requests of our people,” Amb. Ogunsola stated. “Our focus is to ensure that development reaches every corner of Obafemi Owode, working in tandem with the policies and programs of the state government.”

The road project is just one facet of a comprehensive development package. Amb. Ogunsola used the occasion to unveil a list of new projects across various wards, which include:

· Construction of Lock-up Shops at Kajola Market, Kajola Ward.
· Construction and Renovation of two blocks of classrooms, including a Head Teacher’s Office, at Owojo, Ajebo Ward.

The Chairman commended Governor Abiodun for providing the necessary resources to kick-start the projects. He also revealed that the grading of rural roads would commence soon as a palliative measure to facilitate the easy transportation of farm produce and boost commercial activities.

In a move aimed at economic transformation, Amb. Ogunsola hinted that the council is expecting the Izindonga Group from South Africa next month for discussions on an Agricultural Investment drive. He noted that the partnership is expected to create numerous employment opportunities for the teeming youth population in the area.

Amb. Ogunsola appealed to residents to continue supporting the local administration by fulfilling their civic responsibilities, including the prompt payment of tenement rates and other levies. He assured them of his administration’s commitment to bringing Obafemi Owode Local Government to an enviable standard.
