Ogun First Lady, Mrs Abiodun kicks-off free tests, vaccination for Hepatitis across all LGAs in Ogun

The Ogun State first lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has perfected plans to kick off a free test, counselling and vaccination for Hepatitis as health is one of the top priorities of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

In her remarks, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun First Lady of Ogun State and Ambassador of World Hepatitis Zero, said to curtail the spread of the hepatitis disease and eliminate the virus to zero level, this administration will endorse the global health sector strategy of viral hepatitis at the World Health Assembly through the implementation and subdue the virus with interventions such as free screening (test), free counselling (education) and free Vaccination (preventive treatment).

The Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, at the event held on Sunday, 28th July at the Primary Healthcare Centre, School III, Sango, Ogun State, thanked Her Excellency, the First Lady for the initiative.

The Deputy Governor of Ogun, in her speech at the flag off appreciated world Hepatitis Zero officials as well as wife of Ogun State governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun for their efforts in bringing the program to Ogun State and her Local government in particular. She also pleaded for thorough mobilization for participation as health, they say, is wealth.

The Olota of Ota Kingdom, Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege, appreciated the Governor Dapo Abiodun led-administration for honouring his community and the First Lady for kicking off of the program in his domain with a prayer for the success of the current administration in Ogun State.

The South West Commissioner for World Hepatitis Zero, Princess Feyikemi Egbeyemi, in her speech appreciated the Ogun State Government for the full support and provision of vaccination for the program.
