Secret oath-taker defeats Ogun house deputy speaker

The Ogun State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker,Tola Banjo,representing Ijebu Ode State Constituency yesterday lost his seat to Wale Alausa of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Alausa was a former member of the House,whose nude picture at an oath taking ritual went viral on social media during the crisis with the former governor Gbenga Daniel.

 

Mr. Wale Alausa, and some other members in the House were enmeshed in a blood oath-taking scandal which went viral after being revealed. The members took the oath to ensure a united front against Governor Gbenga Daniel. The oath was reportedly sponsored by some politicians including the father of a prominent politician in Abuja, a Senator, a former South-West governor, a former minister and another prominent politician in Ogun State.”

However, the house Speaker, Surajudeen Ishola Adekunmbi from Yewa North State Constituency 1 managed to win his seat.

The other constituency from the area was won by the opposition party,PDP.

The All Progressives Congress won the majority seats in the 26 member Assembly, with 17 seats.

The Peoples Democratic Party,PDP won nine seats.

The constituencies won by the PDP are;Ijebu North East,Imeko Afon, Ijebu Ode,Yewa South,Ijebu North 1, Sagamu 2,Idiroko/Ipokia,Ijebu East and Yewa North 2.

The APC won in the two constituencies in Ado-Odo/Ota,Ifo, Abeokuta South.

Others are;Abeokuta North,Ewekoro, Odeda,Ikenne, Odogbolu,Remo North, Ijebu North 2, Sagamu 1 and Ogun Waterside.
