It would be recalled that the Newsaccross.com authoritatively reported on that a female nominee into the TASUED Governing Council has rejected her nomination. Hours after the publication by Newsaccross, the Amosun Administration rushed to announce names of nominees for the Council, which included, Mr. Opeyemi Agbaje, a business strategist, politician and governorship aspirant in the March 2019 elections under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Mr. Opeyemi Agbaje, is the CEO of RTC Advisory Services, policy and strategy consultant and founder of The Opeyemi Agbaje Institute located in Sagamu, Ogun State.

On the day of inauguration of the council members, members, Agbaje was nowhere near the venue of the inauguration. Also, when the inaugural meeting of the governing council was held at the Ijagun campus of the university, Agbaje was also not in attendance thereby fueling the speculations that Agbaje might also have rejected the last-minute appointment by Amosun.

Our investigation confirmed that Agbaje actually rejected the appointment and that was why he was absent at the swearing-in ceremony and the inaugural meeting of the governing council.

A source close to the businessman-cum politician, who does not want his name in print, mentioned that Agbaje actually rejected the appointment on “moral grounds”. In his words: “Oga appreciated the gesture but wondered why such appointment would be made by Governor Amosun in the twilight of his administration. He felt it was morally wrong. He felt the appoint was controversial and the coming administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun would be right to revert such. So, he does not want to be caught up in the controversy and imminent embarrassment that may follow the reversal”.

It would be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC), had in a recent statement issued and signed by its publicity secretary, Comrade Tunde Oladunjoye, said “all appointments made by Amosun during the transition period would be reviewed”
