Covid-19: Odeda LGA Distributes Relief Materials to the Vulnerable, commends Abiodun

The efforts of the Ogun State government at ameliorating the foreseeable pains associated with the sit at home directive of the federal government has received another boost as the Transition chairman, Odeda local government, Alhaji Semiu Bola Lawal and relief material Task Force have taken the distribution of relief items to people of Odeda Local Government Areas.

Addressing journalists during the presentation of the relief pakages to the Ward Task Force (saddled with the responsibility to distribute relief materials for people of Odeda) which comprises of member of Ogun state house of assembly, CDC zonal chairman, Christian association of Nigeria Chairman, Chairman of League of Imam and Alfas, Council of Baale and Community Leaders, Alhaji Lawal said “they are to take the packages to the doorstep of the Poor and the vulnerable in their various communities.

Lawal explained that situation at hands in Nigeria affects all the Nigerians irrespective of party or ethnic affiliations as Coronavirus is no respecter of anybody no matter lowly- or highly-placed, therefore, nobody should play politics with the relief materials and stimulus packages.

The Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) ,Ogun state chapter, Ven. Samson Popoola ,while speaking at the event he commended the transparency of the process and thank the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for remembering less privileged in the society. He said ” What we are seeing today is highly commendable, I want to thank the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the local government chairman, Alhaji Semiu Bola Lawal for this gestures’
He requested for more cooperation between the PCRC and the state.

Some of the beneficiaries appreciated the the gesture, saying it would go a long way in cushioning the effects of the stay-at-home directive.

They said the palliative was timely, and commended Prince Dapo Abiodun for having them at heart in his welfare package for the society.

Alhaji Semiu Bola Lawal said “it was crucial for the aged and the vulnerable to be catered for particularly at this period when the young ones who could cater for their needs would also be indoors”

The Chairman advised the people to continue to observe all the precautionary measures and directives laid down by the government while promising to further extend the gesture to other people within the local government.
